Thursday Night Austin-Area TXHSFB Slate (September 7)

Baca Family Dynasty at Crockett continues as lilttle brother Nick takes a step forward his junior year.

Week Two!  The season alway flies fast, and after this weekend, we are 20% done with the regular season.  Reflect in the moment, as we have a full slate of Austin-area teams playing under Thursday night lights tonight.  Follow along with tonight’s scores via Twitter @FanstandATX.  For a preview podcast of tonight’s action, click here.

Hays (1-0) @ Georgetown (1-0)

Both Rebels (48-36 over East View) and Eagles (36-20 over Ft. Worth Brewer) coming off Week One dubs.  This is as classic of a program pride match up in the state of Texas.  Game action on SHN Sports tonight.  #EFND #RPND

Dynamic ’19 duo Dylan and Noah are on the rapid rise.

Pflugerville (0-1) @ Leander (0-1)

Someone gets the first win tonight at Bible Stadium.  Tough defenses limited the Lions (v. Ellison) and Panthers (v. Bowie) last week, so expecting to see a high scoring affair tonight.  Last year, the Panthers prevailed 28-20.  We’re expecting a total of over 60 points tonight.

Canyon Lake (1-0) @ Reagan (0-1)

Losing Raider QB1 Uriel Montolongo (’18) moments before Week One had Reagan out of sorts Week One against a talented Burnet team (30-0 loss).  But with a week of preperation, and a Varsity game under the belt of new QB Rivera (’20), coach Keith Carey’s crew will give the Nelson Field supporters a good show.

McNeil (1-0) @ Harker Heights (1-0)

The Mavericks beat an improved Austin High team (34-28 at House Park) Week One.  The road gets tougher as Coach McMahan’s crew hits the road to take on Heights.

Watch for Carrera who made a good impression during his time on the field vs. the Maroons in Week One

Gonzales (1-0) @ Crockett (0-1)

Crockett actually led Akins for a portion of the first half in Week One’s loss to the Eagles (44-26 at Burger Stadium).  They will take those lessons learned into Burger Stadium with plans to topple Gonzales.

Ball is life. His three touchdowns last week has him on track to challenge for 25-5A All District First Team in 2017.

Fredericksburg (1-0) @ Travis High (0-1)

Coach Martinez’ Rebels look for their first win of the season at House Park this evening.  The Billies of Fredericksburg beat Lampasas 27-13 last week, while the Rebs are coming off the season’s most lopsided loss of the year (74-6 to Seguin).
