Austin-area Boys Basketball District Schedule (January 12, 2018)

Hays Frosh guard Agnew is turning heads with his impressive play of late. Tonight, the Rebel face a tough road test versus a hungry Vista Ridge program.

No crazy Saturday afternoon start times this weekend – as the vast majority of action takes place under Friday Night Lights.  Also notable, the long anticipated beginning of District 14-6A tips off.  Check out tonight’s match ups.

The Timberwolves are looking to bounce back from a tough road loss, facing a tough Elgin program this evening.  Junior forward Josh Baker flashed big upside in CPBB’s last match up.

Connally (5-1) @ Georgetown (3-5)

Elgin (4-3) @ Cedar Park (5-2)

Bastrop (1-5) @ Rouse (7-0)

Hutto (4-3) @ Cedar Creek (0-7)

Lanier’s perfect district record will remain so at least until next week, with a non-district match up against a worthy ‘St. Migos’ squad. Shout out to the Crusaders.  Tonight is critical for 25-5A teams, because its top two current seeds (LBJ and Vikings) are not in district action tonight.

Crockett (1-2) @ Austin High (1-1)

McCallum (1-2) @ Reagan (2-2)

St. Michael’s @ Lanier (non district)

The Raiders could score the biggest upset of tonight’s slate if they can managed to defeat Pflugerville on the road. The Panthers are tied with Hendrickson for first place (3-0) in 13-6A.

Cedar Ridge @ Pflugerville (3-0)

Westwood (2-1) @ Round Rock (1-2)

Hendrickson (3-0) @ Stony Point (0-4)

Its the opening night of district play for the boys of 14-6A.

Manor @ San Marcos

Anderson @ Bowie

Del Valle @ Akins

Don’t count the Rebels out of playoff contention – especially when they play the way they did vs. previously district perfect Leander. Last Tuesday saw a solid team-wide effort, including a strong performance from senior Hoekstra.

Westlake (3-0) @ Lehman (0-4)

Lake Travis (2-1) @ Leander (2-1)

Hays (2-2) @ Vista Ridge (1-2)
